Optimize games performance in Windows 7

Windows Aero is a nice and fancy feature, but it eats a lot of graphical RAM. Aero is switched off automatically you launch a 3d game in fullscreen, and restored when you're back to desktop.

It's kinda annoying, each time when I press Alt+Tab, I have to watch how Windows interface glitches switching back to Aero.

A good solution is to turn off Aero constantly when you're running a GPU heavy game.

Here's how to do that:

open propierties of game's executable

go to compatiblity tab

tick the checkboxes near "Disable Visual Themes" and "Disable Desktop Composition"

Now everytime you run this game, your GPU memory will be freed so you can enjoy maximum performance
